Local & Global Missions

It is our desire to make an impact in our community and around the globe for the glory of God.  The following mission opportunities are your chance to get involved in reaching the world with the Good News of Jesus.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8, ESV)

If you have questions or want to get involved in any of the following missions, contact the church office.

Local Mission Opportunities

Thomas Ultican Elementary (TUE)

CrossWay Bible Church is partnering with TUE to make in impact in our community through the following programs:

      • Good News Club – During the school year, a team from CrossWay hosts an after-school Bible club for interested students using curriculum from Child Evangelism Fellowship. Spread the gospel directly in the school! The club meets one afternoon a week (3:30-5pm) at TUE. Volunteers needed; join the team! Training provided. Email the church office for details.
      • Difference Makers – During the school year, a team from CrossWay participates in this TUE mentoring program to make a positive impact in the life of a student. Helping with homework and reading while building a friendship is your opportunity to show God’s love in a tangible way. Volunteers needed; training provided. Email the church office for details.
      • Strand of Three Food Bags  – During the school year, Strand of Three supplies us with bags of food to feed a family of 4 for an entire weekend! We need a team to help deliver these bags weekly to families in need from TUE. Email the church office for details.
      • School Supplies Drive – Each school year, we hold a school supply drive for the students in need at TUE. We are collecting replenishment supplies in February 2016. See the latest church bulletin for a supply list.

Urban Scholastic Center (USC)

Having access to books helps increase literacy, and that’s why the Urban Scholastic Center in Kansas City, Kan., puts an emphasis on reading and distributes thousands of books to urban children throughout the year. In the U.S., the typical middle-class child enters first grade with 1,000-1,700 hours of picture book reading time. The typical low-income child average just 25 hours. We conduct an annual drive of new and gently-used books for USC for kindergartners through 5th graders. Check back here for details!
